“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us.”   2 Corinthians 5:20

We are HIS AMBASSADORS….

An ambassador is an authorized representative who speaks or acts on behalf of a higher authority. For the believer, that higher authority is God, in Christ. God makes His appeal to the world through us, as representatives of JESUS.

This weekend, we will have countless opportunities to represent Him well. It is an opportunity for us to lay our preferences aside, to take up our servant’s basin and towel, and serve our community, and one another. I love what I heard someone say once: “JOY comes from Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself last.” (Notice, that spells JOY!). So as we enter this weekend, I am praying that the Holy Spirit will fill our hearts with the love of God, that we will be conformed to the image of Jesus who “poured himself out for us” as we pour out His love on others. Moment by moment may we seize every opportunity to appeal to the world of His love to those with whom we come in contact!

Being an ambassador requires grace! Lean fully into His loving arms and let Him love through you this weekend… whether that is sharing a food item, inviting someone to Thanksgiving dinner, declaring a song or a testimony or just helping move chairs! “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as unto the Lord.”  (Colossians 3:23).
